2004日本大阪国际设计竞赛
信息来源:中国艺术设计联盟     信息作者:联盟记者     发布时间:2004-12-30 18:55
[前言]
The Japan Design Foundation (JDF), characterized by an emphasis on "conveying visions and messages concerning the future of humankind,"held a total of 10 international competitions on a biennial basis between 1983 and 2001, under its basic principle of "Design for Every Being." From the competition held in 2002 - 2003, we shifted our focus to "working out solutions to today's social challenges" in order to reestablish our competition as one that links design and business.
To be specific, we have striven to introduce proposals gathered from all over the world to various communities including industry, design, education, consumers, and local governments. At the same time, we provide companies in the manufacturing and distribution industries with opportunities for specific business talks to substantiate those proposals into actual businesses. We also are developing a database of works qualified for the final review process as part of a mechanism ensuring public relations and continuous business exchange on the JDF website.
At the Competition 2004, in order to make further contributions to the industrial design community, we will upgrade our international design competition and welcome proposals under three entry themes, including industrial clusters and joint projects with industrial organizations, which incorporate innovative designs that would promote the development of new products and the creation of new markets.
Highly-rated and prize-winning works are determined at the Review, with the possibility of being merchandized through business matching by category at workshops. Proposals of high quality from many applicants are invited.
The Competition will be planned and operated annually from this year.

[主题]

背景:
The industrialized society of the 20th century brought about a great deal of material affluence. But it also caused a great deal of stress on the environment and human minds and bodies, which resulted in rising consumer needs for health, safety and comfort. Also, the dramatic advancement in today's global information and telecommunications environment affects people's everyday lives, prompting major transformation in how individuals sees themselves and how they interact with others. Consequently, the re-realization of one's own identity triggers a stronger desire for each individual person to use their time and space in a way that meets their own needs and taste, with new tools and services. Besides, it is becoming increasingly necessary to create the kind of wisdom that helps ensure harmony across international and regional borders among different sets of values that different individuals cherish in their daily lives.
Against this background, we have set three entry themes for the competition, placing a major emphasis on "Place of Living." These three themes are all based on concepts and methods of ecological and universal designs. Under each one, applicants are expected to come up with fresh ideas about products, systems and services, directly linked to a high quality of life instead of mere material affluence.

主题 (1) "Out" - two years from now -
Today, more and more people wish to train their bodies and minds and relieve stress in natural surroundings, and to enjoy various nature-related entertainments. This trend has been emerging together with increasing needs for better outdoor life. In this context, we would like to invite applicants to submit high quality proposals that ensure more fruitful and diverse outdoor lifestyles.
The following are examples of specifically desired proposals
Examples of proposals
Proposal to enjoy "walking, running, workout, training"
Proposal to enjoy "moving," from a short walk to travel
Proposal of new ways of "having fun and playing outdoors"
.
主题 (2) "In" - two years from now -
There are increasing needs to fulfill each individual's needs and taste in conveniences/facilities and the interior of each person's home - the basis of one's everyday life.
Various considerations and inventive ideas are needed for older and/or challenged persons, too. We are also faced with a need to gain new wisdom about environment and housing.
In this context, we would like to invite applicants to submit proposals concerning residential/housing space that would lead to the realization of new values in everyday life.
Examples of proposals
Proposals related to residential space
Proposal of a space accommodating the needs and taste of each "individual" person
Proposal of a space for "eating and family time"
Proposal for using solar energy at home: e.g.
(1) Use of solar energy as a heat source for changing all home appliances into electric-powered ones and supplying hot water;
(2) Use of solar energy as a light source for lighting fixtures, daylighting systems and other light-related interiors;
(3) Use of solar energy as a source of nutrition for gardening and cooking.

主题 (3) "With" - two years from now -
People's lives are deeply affected by how they are connected with family and society. In this context, we would like to invite applicants to submit proposals focused on today's specific social needs in terms of family life as well as the life of single persons..
The following are examples of specifically desired proposals.
Examples of proposals
Proposal ensuring "safety and security of life"
Proposal concerning "life with pets"
Proposal concerning time-honored lifestyles
